History
Hadashah Learning Centre started in January 2006 with 8 learners ranging from Grade 9 to Grade 12 and one Educator who was Supervisor/ Principal/ Administrator/ Pastor all rolled into one. The school then occupied a single room in a local church building.
At the end of that year, 3 learners graduated (completed the requirements for the Grade 12 College Entrance Certificate). In 2007 the school expanded and moved into a new temporary facility to accommodate the 17 learners who were enrolled. Two more learners graduated during 2007.
Once again, at the end of 2007, the need arose to relocate to bigger premises. The premises now occupied belong to the HoutKruis Community Church. The school makes use of the church hall for assemblies and functions and the church grounds provide the learners with a comfortable playground.
There are currently, 6 members of staff and 30 learners.
Curriculum
The school follows the internationally recognized Accelerated Christian Education (A.C.E.) curriculum from Grade R to Grade 12, which meets more than the minimum requirements of the RNCS (Revised National Curriculum Statement), but is Biblically based. It is registered with the Limpopo Department of Education as an Independent School.
Unique in Polokwane, the method of instruction is completely individualized. Each learner's own performance level is diagnosed and work is prescribed for him/her at that level. This ensures optimum achievement for each learner and builds self-esteem. Goal setting and self-evaluation are taught and carefully monitored. This results in graduates being well prepared for self-study, and competent at university. Graduates of A.C.E. schools are accepted by universities in South Africa and abroad.
Biblical values are incorporated into the learning material to build character in the learners. Hi tech support materials are used to enhance the learning experience e.g. computers and videos. A comprehensive Futurekids/Skillspro programme gives learners of all ages competence in computer skills. Music, art and physical training are included to help develop the whole child. Regular field trips and outreaches teach the learners to be community-minded citizens.
The learning environment is strictly controlled to minimize distractions and ensure optimum learning, hence the term "Learning Centre" rather than classroom.
